ADA Review In-Depth Explanation! Super Jet Filter ES-900

ES-900 is a new addition to the lineup of the Super Jet Filter series, which provides stable and high filtration capacity over a long period of time. While maintaining the basic performance of the previous series, the ES-900 is optimized for the filtration system of a W90cm aquarium.

We would like to introduce all of its features in this article.

The Super Jet Filter series is compatible with all ADA aquarium sizes with the introduction of the ES-900.
Until then, two ES-600 filters or ES-600EX (no longer available) were recommended for 90cm aquariums, but with the introduction of ES-900, the filtration system is optimized and the equipment is neatly organized. The full lineup of the Super Jet Filter series makes it easier to select a filter that best suits the size of the aquarium.

  

Recommended points for ES-900

Adoption of impeller with high flow rate specifications
Conventional systems using the ES-600 had a problem with somewhat weak water flow. The use of a pump with a built-in impeller having high-flow specifications made the ideal water flow possible. 

Bio Rio G included as standard
After testing with various filter media, Bio Rio G, which has the lowest flow loss and is less likely to overload the pump, is used as the filter media that is included in the product. The irregular grain shape has a rectifying effect and prevents uneven flow. 

Optimized Lily Pipe
Along with the adoption of the new impeller specifications, the appropriate pipe diameter for the pump has been newly set. Lily Pipe P-4 (Ø13) is selected for the outflow pipe, and New Lily Pipe V-7 (Ø17), which is larger, is selected for the inflow pipe. 

Secrets of the slim canister
A W90cm aquarium with a water volume of approximately 167L, is in the category of large aquariums and requires a reasonable filtration capacity. The slim silhouette is the result of securing sufficient filtration capacity as well as being able to be stored in a cabinet.

 

Super Jet Filter ES-600／ES-900／ES-1200／ES-2400

○It is an external filter, ideal for Nature Aquarium. It can be used widely for keeping fish, aquatic plants, etc. (for fresh aquarium only). Each filter matches with the tank size as following:
・ES-600 : W60 × D30 × H36cm tank - W60×D45×H36cm tank 
・ES-900 : W90×D45×H45cm tank
・ES-1200 : W120×D50×H50 tank 
・ES-2400 : W150×D60×H60cm tank - W180×D60×H60 tank (※Multiple filters are required for larger tanks)
○It adopts a specially developed magnetic drive pump, and with this, decreased water flow caused by clogged filtration media (manufacturer: IWAKI CO.,LTD.) is less likely to occur. Its structure with separated Pump and Canister enables to reduce the heat produced by the Pump and negative effect to filtration bacteria caused by the electromagnetic ray.
○The Canister made of stainless steel (SUS304) in a cylindrical form has eliminated excessive structure inside, so that its volume capacity can be utilized to the maximum extent.

* A bag of Bio Rio M or Bio Rio L is included in all filtration systems of the Super Jet Filter series, except ES-150,ES-300 and the standard type ES-600. Their pebble sizes are larger than commercially available regular Bio Rio.
